Wedding Videographer Hamburg
I'm a wedding videographer based in Hamburg. Cinematic, documentary, no staged posing. For couples who want a film they'll still enjoy watching in ten years.
Every wedding is different, so we put the package together with you. Here's the toolkit:
The film you'll share and rewatch. Tells the arc of the day in condensed form, with music, imagery, real voices.
The ceremony uncut, multiple angles. For you, your parents, your grandparents. Rarely shown, but when it is, it matters.
Short versions for Instagram and TikTok. 30 to 60 seconds, vertical, no watermark, licensed music included.
The film in full resolution. For archiving, screenings, and anything beyond an Instagram feed.
Engagement or couple session before the day. Helps you loosen up on camera, and gives me a feel for you two.
The unedited material as an add-on. Unsorted, not color-corrected. An archive for you.
I work with Musicbed, Artlist, and Soundstripe. The license is baked into the film, you can share it anywhere without copyright stress.
Digital download plus a physical USB stick. Old school and new school, both.
We probably don't match if you want a classic wedding film: intro with rings on velvet, slow-mo kiss at sunset, drone over the venue. Other people do that better.
We match if you nod along to these:
You notice how rooms look, what music plays, which flowers sit where. You consciously opted out of Pinterest wedding #4,000. A film in the same spirit as your wedding, not the by-the-book look.
The First Look on cue, the fake laugh for the camera, the 20-minute director's cut: not your thing. You want the film to show what actually happened. The best moments happen when no one sees the camera.
Maybe you're international. Maybe you met the long way around. Maybe you're celebrating in an old warehouse in HafenCity because it means something to you. If there's a story behind your day, I want to hear it before we even talk equipment.
We talk about your day, your venue, your vision. I ask a lot, especially about your story. By the end you know if it fits, and I know what you need.
I send you a moodboard with the visual approach, plus a coverage plan for the day. We align before anything is locked in.
Engagement or couple session. 1 to 2 hours somewhere you feel at home. Helps you loosen up and gives me a feel for your dynamic.
I'm usually around for 8 to 12 hours, from getting ready through the first dance. For larger weddings with a second shooter. I keep distance, ask little, just show up.
I sort, cut, color-grade, build sound design. You get a rough cut, one round of feedback, then we finalize.
Cloud download plus USB stick. Highlight film, full ceremony, social cuts, all in 4K. Music license included, share it anywhere.
I don't come from the wedding business. I come from narrative and brand film. My daily work is aftermovies, brand films, retreat documentaries. Weddings aren't the norm for me, they're one of the hardest formats: one day, no second chance, and the result should feel like a film, not a protocol.
That's the difference. A classic wedding videographer works from a checklist: rings detail, first look, speech, kiss, cake. The checklist is correct. The film often still feels generic because it's built the same way everyone else builds it.
I work differently. I listen before I film. What's your morning ritual? Who's the person who makes you laugh right before the ceremony? Where did you meet, and how does that feel today? Those questions drive the difference because they decide which moments I hunt for once the day is running.
Three things I'm obsessive about: light (where it falls, how it moves through the day, when the ceremony is scheduled, does it line up), music (which track carries which moment without turning sappy), and movement (handheld, close, in the pulse of the day, not sterile on a tripod).
The result: a film that doesn't look like a wedding, it looks like your wedding. That's the only film you'll still want to watch in ten years.
Hamburg has its own tone. Less decoration, more stance. Understated, solid, no show. That carries over into Hamburg weddings. Couples here rarely want full glamour, they want something that feels real.
Light is the second half of the story. North Sea light is different from southern Germany or the Mediterranean. Softer, greyer, often overcast, but with this clear quality when the clouds break. I've been shooting in this light for years and learned to work with it instead of against it.
Preferred locations for wedding coverage in Hamburg: Speicherstadt (the brick edges in late afternoon light), Planten un Blomen (green, calm, photogenic), the Alster (summer couple shots, best early morning), HafenCity (modern, clean, good lines), and the old warehouses in Altona or Bahrenfeld for couples who want something unusual. Those are my go-tos. If your venue is elsewhere, we go where you are.
One last detail: Hamburg does weather. Rain isn't drama, it's part of the look. I bring weather-sealed gear and I'm not scared to step outside when it's grey. Some of the best frames come from exactly those moments.
The films below aren't weddings, they're retreat and event projects. The emotional impact is the same, and that's exactly the point for a wedding film too.
Wow, I'm so impressed! This film, those precise and beautifully captured moments. It touches me so deeply. So much joy coming up just remembering! It was simply so so beautiful.

Wow Nick. Incredibly genius what you created. Sitting here with tears in my eyes because you captured so many things so sensitively, so close and touchable... and because I get to see how many of us are now living from full hearts, which is what we've been standing for all these years. Your SH Fest video is the ABSOLUTE MEGA MASTERPIECE!

For the Hamburg wedding season (May to September) plan 6 to 12 months ahead. Smaller weddings or off-season dates often work with less lead time. If your date is set, reach out early even if you haven't decided everything.
Solo is the default. For larger weddings above around 80 guests, or if getting ready happens in two locations at once, I bring a second shooter. We figure this out on the kickoff call based on your timeline.
Typical is 8 to 12 hours: from getting ready through the first dance. If you only want the ceremony or only the reception, that's fine too. Coverage hours drive most of the effort, and therefore the price.
On request, yes, as an add-on. Raw footage is unsorted, often several hours long, and not color-corrected. Most couples use it as an archive for later, not as active files.
I work with licensed music libraries (Musicbed, Artlist, Soundstripe). The license is included with the film, so you can share it on social media without worrying. If you want a specific commercial song, we handle that case by case.
Yes. I regularly shoot in Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, and the rest of Germany. Destination weddings in Europe (Portugal, Spain, Italy) too. Travel costs are billed separately, transparent and without markup.
The highlight film takes 6 to 10 weeks. A quick social cut within 10 days is possible if you want to share fast. Full ceremony films usually land together with the highlight.
I come from a narrative and brand film background, not the classic wedding business. That means: no standardized posing, no drone shots with generic string music, no 20-minute director's cut that no one finishes. Instead, a film that feels like a short film about your day.
Kickoff call, 30 to 45 minutes. You tell me, I listen, and then you know if it fits.
